Stronger The Password, Better The Protection!

Passwords are the first step to a secured internet experience. They are the defense technique that secures our account from unwanted intruders. Even though you are a seller or a buyer passwords play a vital role. While you create your own eCommerce website, passwords are used to login into the admin panel. If they are weaker in any way, then beware your website is likely to get hacked. Though the passwords might not give you a full-proof solution, but you can still protect your account if you follow the following tips.

Strong Password:

While you are creating your account on eCommerce platforms, password is a must. For better protection, try and keep strong passwords. When I say strong password that means don’t use generic passwords that can be easily hacked like your name, surname, etc. In fact, make use of alphanumeric, symbols, numbers if you want to have a strong password. With these elements, hacking would be not be a cakewalk.

Different Passwords For Different Accounts:

While many prefer to have one password for all the accounts, but this particular trait can increase your problems. A hacker can hack one account and he might use the same in hacking the other accounts. This will land you in a messy situation because data across your accounts will be hacked. Instead, try and have different passwords. Also keep changing your passwords time-to-time as that will confuse the hacker too!

Avoid Sharing Of Password:

How much ever you trust a person, remember your password can be misused anytime. It is common sense that you are not supposed to share your password, but there are abundant people who still prefer leaking their password. Several times, people fall in the trap and leak their passwords to the bank employees thinking they are going to help them assist with their banking issues. In fact, they are sharing their valuable data and are unaware about the fact.

Phishing Comments And Mails:

Several times, while you’re operating your website you tend to get spam comments. These comments are nothing but are trying to hack your website. Not only this, but you might get several mails too, which can be from your bank, especially when you have a payment gateway. Before clicking on suspicious links, try and analyse the link and check who the sender is. Click the link only if you know the sender and if you find anything suspicious report spam immediately. Instead of clicking, you can also copy-paste the link and see where it is heading to!

Always Update Your Software:

If you own a website then make sure to have an updated version of anti-virus. Every day, there are new additions in the list of viruses and Trojans which infect your website and also browsing experience. So, update all your software religiously. If you are using your mobile phone, then make sure the phone is also updated with latest anti-virus.

Protecting your data should be your top-notch priority and for that do follow these tips. You have to take extra efforts to make sure that you have a safe browsing experience – as a buyer as well as a seller!
